Salomon Women’s X Ultra Mid GTX walking boots Reviewed

Written by Fiona Outdoors

Sometimes I wonder why the names of outdoor clothing are so long, especially walking boots! However, this isn't relevant when wearing the boots. The Salomon Women’s X Ultra Mid GTX, take a breath, walking boots are, in a ntushell, wonderfully comfortable.

As soon as you put your feet into the boots they feel as thought you’re owned them for years. You could imagine walking for miles and miles without any blisters or pains. And if you fancied breaking into a jog, these mid-height ankle boots do a fine job, too.

The technical stuff makes for good reading, too. Stable and protective, lightweight and with GORE-TEX® weather protection and an aggressive grip.

When to wear the Salomon Women’s X Ultra Mid GTX

These boots are ideal for trail and hill walking in summer, and also some lower level walking in the colder months in the UK. If you want to look outdoorsy on a trip to the local pub, they’ll tick all the right boxes, too!

I have takne these boots out for a few walks on canals, trails, hills and along the road. Thanks to great cushioning and comforablte in-soles the boots feel good on all terrains. They are lightweight and flexible enough to be comfy for long walks but also offer enough grip and rigidity to cope with rocky ground and mud. Walking through puddles is no problem because the Gore-Tex fabric keeps your feet dry.

I have a narrow foot and these boots fit like a glove. They are easy to lace up tightly and pretty much feel like my running trainers. I might be biased because I have long been a fan of Salomon walking boots for fit anf comfort and these women-specific boots are no less lovely.
