What I think about the Mammut MTR 71 t-shirt

I am usually a size 10 and the small size fits brilliantly. It’s not too tight, nor too loose, and is a flattering female fit.

And oh, this t-shirt just feels so silky light to wear. It’s like slipping into a silk glove. The material seems to float over your skin, as though you’re wearing a lovely lightweight cooling system. The label info says that the t-shirt is for lightweight and high air permeability. It adds that it’s ideal for hot summer days. We haven’t had many summer days, let alone hot summer days, but I have still worn this t-shirt with great benefits on training runs.

Mammut is a highly respected outdoors and fitness clothing brand and this t-shirt lives up to expectations. It’s so easy to wear and is great at wicking sweat away from the skin. It dries very quickly, too.

What impressed me more is that although it’s made from mostly polyester it doesn’t end up as whiffy as many other similar tops. I usually state that Merino wool is the only way to reduce BO smells but this Mammut top withstood several sweaty training sessions and remained pretty non-whiffy. Perhaps it’s the lightweight, quick drying fabric that helps to keep down the BO smell.

I’d happily wear this top as a super soft baselayer or as a flattering, effective sweat wicking summer training t-shirt. When freshly washed I would wear it on a social night to the pub, too, because it looks fab.

What I’m not so keen on

I wish that companies would be more accurate with sizes. Small can often mean anything from an UK 8 to 12. Also, why not offer an XL and an XXL for women who are a little larger but want to look good while exercising?

The SRP for this top is £75, which is costly for a T. Mammut products are normally long lasting so it would be a good investment but I still think the price tag is high. (Although I have seen this t-shirt on sale cheaper by searching on-line.)
